Family kayaking together on Ullswater
Family & Groups

One booking, several different ideas of a good day.

Multi-generational parties, hen and stag weekends, and corporate away-days, built around activity centres that are genuinely used to mixed ages and abilities turning up together.

The actual planning problem

Nobody in a big group wants the same day.

A week with grandparents, teenagers and a toddler in it doesn't need one activity that suits everyone — it needs several running in parallel, timed to meet back at the same table for dinner. That's the actual job here, more than any single booking.

For hen, stag and corporate groups, the same logic applies in reverse: one big shared activity, built around whatever the occasion actually calls for — quad treks and clay shooting cover a lot of that ground on their own.

Build your group's week

The options.

Mixed ages, mixed abilities, one itinerary.

Group · 01

Junior adventure days

Pond-dipping, low ropes and beginner kayaking, run by instructors used to working with children.

Example showcase

Junior adventure day — a full day of mixed low-risk activity for under-12s.

Group · 02

Milestones & celebrations

A full itinerary built around one occasion — a significant birthday, an anniversary, a hen or stag weekend.

Example showcase

Milestone weekend — the whole stay planned around one big day, activities either side of it.

Group · 03

Corporate away-days

Team activities that actually require people to work together, followed by a proper dinner rather than a slide deck.

Example showcase

Team offsite — a half-day shared activity, the rest of the day left free for meetings or downtime.

Group · 04

Multi-generational days

Two or three activities running at once, graded differently, timed to finish together — grandparents included, not left behind.

Example showcase

Split-day on the lake — sailing for the confident, a gentle steamer cruise for everyone else, same boat back.

A few questions

Groups, specifically.

What's the youngest age most activities accept?

Varies by activity — kayaking and low ropes often start from around 6, quad biking and via ferrata closer to 10-12. We check exact ages against your group when planning.

Can you run two different activities for the same group on the same day?

Yes — this is one of the more common requests, and most local operators are set up for it, timing pickups and finishes to meet in the same place.

Is there a minimum group size for a corporate day?

Most operators can flex from a handful of people to large teams — tell us the number and we'll match it to the right activity and venue.
